Freie Universität Berlin European Studies Program (FU-BEST) is intended especially for North American students interested in studying abroad for one semester or more, improving or developing their German language skills, and gaining insight into the history, politics, literature, and culture of Germany and its European neighbors. The academic year matches the U.S. two-semester structure and time frame.

In addition to a wide range of stimulating subject courses, German language instruction forms an integral part of FU-BEST. Field-trips, excursions, and cultural events are woven tightly into the semester program.

Interested and qualified students can also continue their studies during the Sommersemester (April-July) at Freie Universität Berlin.
